Farmer's Market with Dad & Mom G

We had a short but great weekend visit with Mom and Dad G, and finally got to take them to our Saturday farmer's market extravaganza. I'm not sure exactly how many vendors are there, but there are probably 30+: fresh veg and fruit; honey; organic meat; cheese; flowers and plants; baked goods; wine; and of course the kettle corn. Plus there are usually some people playing folk or bluegrass and little kids dancing around. It was hot but still fun.

Now that it is the height of the summer growing season, there were LOTS of amazing fruits and vegetables to choose from. And yes, we bought those cherry tomatoes and they were tasty. There is something more delicious and flavorful about produce that is grown nearby and picked close to consumption.

Our favorite peach stand...

...Back in our place for a healthy lunch spread with some of the morning's purchases. We also had a nice, crunchy baguette. If only I could make my own pickles. Mom H, what's your recipe??
